My name is Sella Khiloyan and I am in 9-1 class.
how are my elective subjects related to my future career
Sculpting is my elective subject. I plan to be an artist so sculpting can be beneficial in a lot of ways.
The first benefit is that it gives me ideas. I could be stuck in an art block, therefore sculpting is the best way to find new ideas .I could be messing around with the clay and suddenly get the idea to make a dragon. I can use the dragon as a reference to draw it after I finish making the sculpture . I doubt I’d be able to visualize the dragon without sculpting.
The second advantage is that I can draw more realistically by seeing how shapes make up an object. Sculpting is a form of art so after making a sculpture drawing on paper is much easier. I understand how each object would be perceived.
do my abilities ,character traits and hobbies match my future career?
I don’t have many abilities although the ones I have are all related to art in some way. I’m an artistic type of person who enjoys learning new skills, so I taught myself how to play the guitar, skate, and design flipbooks. I’m also an introvert, that’s why I prefer to work in enclosed spaces. I’m a stubborn person, so if I don’t get the results I want, I try harder. I’m not very organized, but it makes things easier for me to get work done. when everything is nicely put away I don’t get much work done worrying that I will mess up my room. Swimming, Sculpting, Crocheting, and, most importantly, drawing are some of my hobbies.
I think I match my career very well.
what educational projects and research activities have I carried out that may be related to my future profession?
The biggest project for me was learning how to animate. I’m still not as good at it as I would like to be but it was a big step to improve my artistic skills. I’ve also participated in an exhibition where my art and hand made crafts were displayed. I’ve done some research on how to sew, which will come in handy since I want to use my artistic abilities to design outfits. I’ve studied various forms of art, such as music. I’ve also done some research to see which school would be the best fit for me.
What books and articles have I read that really meet my interests?
One of the books I read this year was “to your eternity”.It’s about an orb that does not die.The orb is dropped on earth and it turns into a rock .for years it stays as a rock then it turned into moss. Eventually a wolf dies on the mossy rock and it becomes the wolf. That is how the main character is born “Fushi”.At first fushi was ⏃ very emotionless creature. When he started to have contact with humans he started to understand emotions better. He starts learning how the humans communicate. His first words were “thank you”. As he wanders the world he starts to obtain new memories which make him more human. Each character in the book is flawed in some way. March the first friend fushi makes is obsessed with being a mother. She unfortunately had to be sacrificed to save her village. We are then introduced to Gugu. He was a very sweet boy.He unfortunately gets into a horrible accident and is permanently disfigured.Tunari was first portrayed as a villain but we then find out how her father was captured and she was forced to live on a small unknown island. This book shows us how every human is flawed in some way or another. It shows us how people try to find themselves. By meeting these people, Fushi gains something irreplaceable. He finds value in what the others are missing. March’s desire to grow older is why Fushi is so interested in learning.Gugus’ disfigurement taught him to care about people without caring about how they look. The story is long and I could talk about it for a long time. But in conclusion it was ⏃ very well written book and ⟟ would recommend anyone to read it.
have the meetings with the invited specialists at the educational complex played any role in my professional orientation?
Our school has had many meetings with specialists. They talked about various different and interesting things but non played any role on me choosing my profession. I’ve always wanted to be an artist and had no interest in changing it. However I did learn new information about each profession they introduced.
